Here’s a quick tip to keep your flowering pots and planters well-hydrated during hot weather.
Have you ever noticed how your soil seems to dry out in no time during hot weather? When you water your container gardens or hanging plants, the water drains to the bottom rapidly and only allows a limited amount of time for your plants to absorb the life-giving moisture it provides.
Rather than watering your container gardens, try adding ice cubes instead.
As the ice cubes melt, they will slowly water your plants and allow them to absorb more of it. (You’ll also use less water that way, too!)
